The college was started in the year 2010 with a view to promote Higher Education among the rural village girls. Nearly 82 rural villages are benefitted. The college is affiliated to MANONMANIAM SUNDARANAR UNIVERSITY.

It is a self supporting college managed by SRI. K. RAMACHANDRA NAIDU MEMORIAL EDUCATIONAL TRUST, SOLAISERI and Dr. R. KANNAN is the Chairman of the Trust. It provides quality education to the weaker sections of the society and provides opportunities to the rural students. The Trust also offers MAHATMA GANDHI COLLEGE OF EDUCATION (B. Ed & M. Ed) and MAHATMA GANDHI TEACHER TRAINING INSTITUTE. The aim of our college is to prepare high caliber, dedicated, service oriented students to fit in any job in the present Scenario. The college is located in a pollution free, clean, calm and natural environment with all infrastructure facilities to enable proper education. More extra-curricular activities are the added advantages of our college.
